Tongue bars
Straight barbells are the only sensible fitting for a tongue piercing. Titanium is lighter than steel, which matters when you are wearing it against your teeth all day.
We'd steer you towards internally threaded jewellery for a tongue piercing. Screw-in ends are more secure than push-fit threadless ones, which counts for a lot in a spot where a loose ball can chip a tooth or be swallowed.
Sizing
Tongue piercings are almost always 1.6mm (14g). A fresh piercing is fitted at 16mm to 20mm to allow for swelling, then downsized to 12mm to 16mm once healed. Wearing a bar that is too long risks chipping teeth.
