Tragus earrings, studs and hoops for the small flap of cartilage in front of the ear canal. The tragus takes tiny jewellery, so everything here is cut short and kept small to sit neatly without catching on earphones or hair.
Tragus studs and tragus hoops
Flat back tragus studs are the standard choice. Bar lengths of 6mm suit most healed tragus piercings, with 8mm for fresh ones that still need swelling room. Tops stay small, from a 2mm ball or gem up to a 4mm cluster. Tragus hoop earrings and hinged clickers sit best at 6mm to 8mm internal diameter so the ring hugs the tragus rather than hanging below it.
Anti tragus piercing jewellery
The anti tragus sits opposite the tragus, on the ridge above the lobe. It takes a short curved barbell or a small ring, usually 6mm to 8mm, and the same small tops as the tragus. Tragus and anti tragus are often worn as a matching pair.
Sizing and materials
Tragus piercings are usually 1.2mm (16g), with some pierced at 1mm (18g). Jewellery is implant grade ASTM F-136 titanium or solid 14k gold, both safe for long term wear in cartilage.
