Anti tragus piercing jewellery for the small ridge of cartilage that sits above the lobe, directly opposite the tragus. It is a compact placement with limited room, so it takes short bars and small rings, and the same tiny tops as a tragus.

Anti tragus barbells

A short curved barbell is the standard fit, usually 6mm to 8mm, with both ends showing. Ball ends are the classic look; gem and opal ends make more of it. A short straight bar works for some ears, depending on how the ridge is shaped, and your piercer will have told you which they fitted.

Anti tragus rings

Healed anti tragus piercings can take a 6mm to 8mm hinged ring or seamless ring. Measure the bar you have before choosing a diameter, as the ridge varies a lot from ear to ear.

Sizing and materials

The anti tragus is the small ridge above the lobe, so sizing is tight: 1.2mm (16g), with 6mm to 8mm curved bars or 6mm to 8mm rings and 2.5mm or 3mm ends. Measure the bar you have before choosing a ring, because the ridge varies between ears more than almost any other placement. Anti tragus jewellery is implant grade ASTM F-136 titanium, polished or PVD coated, with gemstone tops set in titanium and solid gold for something finer. Rings and curved bars are the right shapes; straight labret posts tend to sit badly on the anti tragus.
