Piercing Retainers

Piercing retainers keep a piercing open while making it as close to invisible as possible. Clear, flesh tone and tuck-away retainers for work, school, sport, hospital visits and anywhere metal jewellery is not allowed.

Clear nose studs

A clear nose stud is the most searched for retainer. Bioplast and acrylic clear nose studs come as L-shapes, screws and nose bones in 0.8mm (20g) and 1mm (18g), with a tiny flat or ball end that sits almost unseen on the nostril. Glass nose retainers are the choice for anyone who reacts to plastics.

Septum retainers

A septum retainer is a U-shaped staple that flips up inside the nose so nothing shows from the front. They come in 1.6mm (14g) and 1.2mm (16g) in surgical steel, titanium and clear bioplast, and the metal versions double as everyday jewellery when worn down.

Ear, lip and body retainers

Clear labret retainers with a flat disc end hide lip, medusa, tragus and helix piercings. Clear retainers are also made for eyebrow, tongue and belly button piercings, and glass retainers suit stretched lobes.

Choosing a retainer

Match the gauge and length of the jewellery you normally wear. Bioplast and acrylic retainers are for healed piercings; for a fresh piercing that must be hidden, use a glass or titanium retainer with a flat disc.
